It is important to try to conserve energy for many reasons. Two of the top reasons are saving money on energy bills and reducing energy waste. No matter your reason for wanting to conserve energy there are several ways to do it. Below are a few tips to help you conserve energy:
- LED Light Bulbs – If you do not have LED light bulbs throughout your entire home, then we recommend that you make the switch. LED light bulbs are more efficient and last longer, which will save you money.
- Thermostat – Set your thermostat to a constant temperature and refrain from making little adjustments. Keeping your thermostat at a consistent temperature will help to conserve energy. Installing a programmable thermostat will allow you to program a schedule that mimics the times you will be home and the times you will be away. This way you are not heating or cooling your home when you are not home.
- Air Seal – Making sure that you don’t have any places in your home leaking air will help to conserve your home’s energy. This can be done by adding insulation and sealing any cracks or gaps that allow airflow.
- Turn off Lights – Remembering to turn off lights when not in use will help to conserve energy.
