Our multi-layer insulation is the perfect way to keep your home comfortable throughout the year.
At United Energy Solutions, we want to help you stay comfortable throughout the year, and we offer innovative insulation options to let you do just that. One of these options is our multi-layer insulation, which helps keep your indoor temperatures more consistent during both the summer and winter. In this article, we’ll explain more about how this type of insulation works to help you decide if it’s right for you.
To begin, we’ll go over how insulation works in general. The goal of all insulation is to slow down the transfer of heat. Heat energy naturally wants to spread out, moving from its point of origin to colder areas–for example, a radiator warming the cold air around it, or your body heat escaping into the cold winter air. Insulation creates a barrier between warm and cold areas, which slows down the movement of that energy. Multi-layer insulation, as its name says, contains multiple layers of different insulating materials to slow down that heat transfer even more and maintain a more consistent temperature at all times. A layer of closed cell insulation is sandwiched between two sheets of reflective aluminum for maximum heat retention/shielding–in the winter, the inner layer of aluminum reflects the heat from your furnace back into your home, while in the summer, the outer layer reflects heat from the sun away from your carefully air-conditioned interior.
